Description

The Fiat 500 was released as the Nuova 500 back in July of 1957 and went on to become one of the most iconic cars of all time. With almost four million examples produced by the time production ended in 1975, they certainly aren't an uncommon sight, but that doesn't negate the joy most people have for seeing one in person.

The 500L was introduced in 1968 as a luxury oriented version of the 500F that had launched three years earlier. Arguably the most desired version of the 500, the styling on the L model was new both inside and out, featuring new chrome nudge bars, a redesigned Fiat logo, as well as additional new changes both inside and out.

This is the type of vehicle easily pictured driving through the Tuscan countryside or jutting in and out of the alleyways in Rome or Venice. Driving this Fiat brings you back to 1968, a simpler time for motoring and an era of automotive design that just exuded style.

This particular example is finished in a handsome White paint; its in terrific shape overall, and still holds a shine. There are a few scratches that are quite difficult to capture in photos, but don't detract from the appearance of the car. The Fiat has been repainted once in its lifetime, but it was quite sometime ago, regardless it still presents very well. The exterior brightwork presents extremely well but upon close visual inspection does reveal some rather minor pitting. The fact that this example retains the chrome nudge bar is quite remarkable as most are often lost to time. The interior which is all-original is in superb shape for being almost five decades old, but does show some wear, which is photographed below. The dash, door cards and carpets all present well and with no visible issues. There are no known mechanical issues; we've driven it around town and even on the highway with no issues to report. The tires are in great shape and have many miles ahead of them. The wheels are in a very respectable condition, but the chrome hubcaps do show some very minor dings and scratches.

Overall this is a driver quality example of a car that brings a smile to anyone's face.
