After a two month long service marathon we are finally putting the finishing touches on a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SE project. This vehicle came in the second week of November and has become very familiar with all of our technicians. Every inch of this car, inside and out, has been thoroughly examined. The 280SE has undergone extensive mechanical repairs ranging from simple pads and rotors to painstaking heater core repairs. Parts are scarce and hard to find for a W111 Coupe, especially when it comes to windows and sections of glass. Upholstery work was needed on the rear shelf which means the rear window needed to be removed. As the pane of glass is no longer available, it was a very slow and careful removal and installation. We also had to install brand new, re-chromed panels with sharp edges over the freshly painted body but it came out beautifully. A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into this car but we are very satisfied with the outcome and would do it again in a heartbeat.
